CaseNine Academy: More control over your CPQ platform

Want to get more out of your CPQ implementation and ensure employees receive the best training? The CaseNine Academy was launched recently: tailor-made training courses aimed at the specific implementation within the organization. The CaseNine Academy was introduced recently. What does the CaseNine Academy entail?

“We’ve reached several milestones at CaseNine in recent months. An important one is the implementation of Salesforce Industries Energy & Utilities Cloud  (formerly Vlocity) at one of our customers, a major energy supplier. The implementation went live at the beginning of this year. Part of the project is to put together a Continuous Improvement Team: a CI team. This group consists of employees who are involved in, among other things, the entire Salesforce platform , the optimization of the CPQ processes and the CPQ platform. The CI team must receive insightful information and proper training. Only then can you ensure that you get the most out of the CPQ implementation and that the organization can work as independently as possible. The latter is nice: as an organization you retain control and you determine which elements are provided by ourselves or by an external partner. To make this possible, we introduced CaseNine Academy this year.”


What can you expect from CaseNine Academy as an organization?

“CaseNine Academy offers various training courses in the field of CPQ. The courses themselves are provided by our Lead Developers. This offers several advantages: the information is not only of a high level, but it is also firsthand information. Moreover, the Lead Developers are aware of the latest developments and they know the customer’s situation in detail. This allows them to respond effectively to the current situation and make use of relevant issues. It concerns a tailor-made training curriculum, in which the organization indicates which elements it wants to follow.”

What are the main goals of such training?

“The training is aimed at members of the inhouse development team and has three main goals. First of all, the Academy helps everyone to gain sufficient basic knowledge of Salesforce Industries. On the basis of the theory and implementation, the employees can then make design choices themselves and work on the user stories independently. CaseNine Academy therefore ensures that organizations get more control over the platform and can maintain the platform as independently as possible. The training also has an important feature for managers: the curriculum is plotted on the solution architecture. If certain elements are not followed, it is immediately clear for which elements (for example, Pricing) we still depend on external parties. Based on this insight, the organization can make the right strategic decisions.”

What distinguishes CaseNine Academy?

“The unique thing about CaseNine Academy is the content of the training plan. We offer classroom training for general topics, based on Salesforce Industries training materials. However, this is supplemented with tailor-made training material specifically for the implementation at the organization itself. So the training is finally relevant to the customer situation and that is quite unique in the market. To give an example: for the training at an energy supplier, we used the assignment to develop a new energy proposition. We always discuss such business cases with the client in advance.

We measure progress by plotting the curriculum topics on the solution (component) architecture. This immediately reveals the level of knowledge and what knowledge is still missing for overall management of the CPQ solution. At each start of the process, we jointly make a detailed estimate of the current level of knowledge. The progress report is updated upon completion of a track.”

How can an organization take the first steps towards CaseNine Academy?

“During a meeting, we always first consider the wishes and ambitions of both the organization and the members of the inhouse Team. We compose the curriculum based on the actual CPQ implementation and use a layering in the topics: from basic knowledge to more advanced topics and then we break it down into profiles: for example, an ‘Admin Track’ and a ‘Developer Track’. As such, CaseNine Academy offers the necessary flexibility and is tailored to the situation at the organization.” 

The average turnaround time of a module at CaseNine Academy depends on which module you choose, but it’s always tailored to the schedule of your organization.
